Story Sequencing with Wordwall
About 90% of pupils sequenced beginning, middle and end independently, with visibly higher engagement.
About 90% pupils sequencing the events of a story independently
Context
A Year 1 English unit on story sequencing, where pupils often lose the thread between beginning, middle and end.
Approach
I used a Wordwall activity to make story structure visible and playful, letting pupils physically order events into beginning, middle and end.
Impact
Engagement rose and about 90% of pupils sequenced the events independently, with more confidence retelling a story in order.
Reflection
The interactivity carried the concept further than a worksheet would have. I would reuse the same activity with a familiar class text so pupils sequence a story they already know before tackling a new one.
